The Atypical Life

An atypical Thursday:
~scoring a pair of $375 leather boots for $40
~walking into a store and getting a free manicure, a martini, and a $25 store credit
~knocking on the door of the new Italian food store that's opened down the street to have the owner sit me down and let me try samples of everything they sell
~leading a group of 13 hostellers from Egypt, Australia, the U.S., Saudi Arabia, and Korea to Old Town, rendezvousing with friends, and ending up having a mini barcrawl with a Russian pal and an Australian guy

An atypical Tuesday:
~being one of the three contestants on the popular "Mix'n'Match" radio show. While I didn't win, they're going to have me on in a few months, and this time, I get to pick from among three guys!

An atypical Friday:
~having two of my friends from my college theatre group randomly run into each other in a hostel in London:

• my life is INSANE. so last night, as i was hanging out with some kids in their room, this kid walks by & i think, "wow, that looks like spencer from moon over buffalo." so i walk out into the hall & say "spencer!" but he didn't respond, so i just thought i was hallucinating. plus, he had a gigantic backpack on & he was talking to the guy helping him w/his luggage & i didn't wanna interrupt or think enough of it to bug him. then today, 2 of my kids complain that they didn't sleep that well because the people next door to them were talking & then snoring loudly. this girl mary said, "yeah, they were so loud, i can tell you that the guy's name is spencer & he's from chicago. isn't that weird, that he ended up next to all of us?" & then my jaw just dropped to the ground. it really was spencer. i talked to him today & he remembered me. he's in law school & is in london for a semester. he's only at the hostel for a few days til he finds a real place to live. i'll get a picture of the two of us so you know that i'm not making this up.

And as for the typical life I lead, well, that's too boring to write about. Ciao!
