Meaningless To Anyone Not In PDP

Memes, how fun they are. Especially when done by a sadistically smart member of your college theatre troupe--and involve him writing his thoughts about you. Here, then, are the thoughts of Jim Trapp from his livejournal:

This meme I'd like to do:
Reply with your name and I will write something about you:
-What reminds me of you...
--A single word that best describes you...
---The most memorable moment I've had with you...
----If I were to apply an "o'clock" to you...
-----Something that I've always wondered about you...

Twinters:
- Anglophilia, spelling and grammar-checking software, twins born in winter, the abbreviation "MD" (for both managing directors and doctors)
-- sassassclass
--- As any individual moments all blur together, the entire week I spent essentially passed out on your couch.
---- All the hours of the day, baby. All the hours of the day.
----- England? You're kidding?

This is most likely meaningless to all those not intimately familiar with the Penny Dreadful Players circa 2003. Yet somehow I couldn't resist--because in my rampant narcissism I hope that some of you (ahem, Rory) will post with answers to the meme.

I recollect a survey I sent out my senior year of high school (1999, if anyone cares). In it, respondents were asked to describe me in various ways: mostly picking one of two diametrically opposed choices. I still remember how half of my friends (who considered themselves normal) said I was a "prep"; the other half who wanted to be different labelled me a "freak." Which was I? Both, and neither. It all ties into the title of this blog: the ancient Roman concept of existimatio. I am what you see in me.

I doubt I will do as good a job at this as the venerable Mr. Trapp did, but I will try:

-What reminds me of you...

Mmm...Globetrotting, high society, farmer's daughters, state legislator's daughters, blends of innocence and sophistication, green lands and stone fortresses, the persistence of myth, absinthe, sweetness, smiling, the whirlwind...

--A single word that best describes you...

Here I rebel against the structures of this "meme" business, I've never been one to use one word when I can use many, I guess the word would be "fun".

A simple enough word that conveys many things, but mostly, I'm having fun when I'm with you.

---The most memorable moment I've had with you...

Again, there really are too many, the early ones tend to stand out for me, so I'll note your volunteering to make Rice Krispie Treats for me once back in the spring of 2000. I love Rice Krispie Treats...

----If I were to apply an "o'clock" to you...

11:15 PM

-----Something that I've always wondered about you...

Would you be able to take Peter Berger in a fight?

-Rory
