Chicago Summer
West on Belmont, Sunday at dusk

My old 'hood: the Belmont/Sheffield intersection, just west of Boystown in the heart of Lakeview. How I miss its vibrancy. Often when I walk down the street I feel a touch of poignancy, the same as when I drive by my old apartment from senior year in Champaign. Happy memories permeate the air, and I grow nostalgic.
I'm glad I can visit, but wish I still lived there. Hopefully I can move at the end of August to a better neighborhood--and by that I mean a real neighborhood, one that people have heard of because it has shops and bars and people, not merely three restaurants as West Town does.

That's a pretty picture, Theresa, making me tear up it is.
That's my home town...

Ah, Chicago in the summer. A good place to live.
I don't recall summer happening last year, or the year before. I'm fairly certain Chicago hasn't been this warm since 2002. So that's good.
