Coming back to Chicago from a bridal shower on Saturday, I complacently flipped through National Geographic at the start of the two-hour ride. Things weren't all that comfortable--I kept having to adjust my coat and my bag because something was poking me.

Imagine my horror as I put my hand back felt human fingers. Yes, the little Hispanic man sitting in back of me had reached his hand through the seat and had been touching my ass for the past 15 minutes.

HOW DISGUSTING!

I'm ashamed to admit my first instinct was not to confront the bastard, but to get as far away from him as possible. Having fled to the next car, I told the overly busy conductor, who promised to tell his superior. When I got up to see if the man was still in the car ahead of me, he'd already left--perhaps switching cars for his next victim.

I say that because after overhearing my distraught phone conversation to a friend, the girl in front of me turned around. "The same thing happened to me," she confided. Short Hispanic guy with a hat, check. Fingers through seat, check. She hadn't noticed for half an hour, but when she did she chewed him out. Leaving to get the conductor, they returned to find the man had gotten off the train.

Thoughts:
~How many women does he do this to?
~What kind of sicko gets his jollies from touching women's butts through seats?
~And what gives him the right to think he can do that--or the guy who pulled my hair on the bus over the summer to think that was okay?
~This is the kind of person who abuses children. God help me if he has a step-daughter or niece.
~Need an excuse for racism? This could be your ticket! After I told her about getting my hair pulled, the girl in front of me eventually said "White people wouldn't do that." "Yeah," I responded facetiously. "The hair-pulling guy was black. Makes you want to write 'em all off, doesn't it?" [Note use of word "facetiously."]
~Finally: can someone arrange to brand this sick fuck with a big 'P' for 'Pervert'? I'd certainly like to.
