Non-Sweet Nothings

To ponder:
  • Is English the Latin of the modern age? In the Middle Ages (about which I recently read), the educated classes could all read, write, and speak Latin. Now people are learning English to communicate across the continent.
  • Is it better to grow up in a small, close-knit town where no one moves far away, or to have friends scattered across the globe? No matter where you live, you'll miss people because they're not in the same country.
  • While I may have pissed away my 20s in a future-less and soul-destroying office job, at least by the time I hit 30 I'll have lived abroad three times in three different countries. And who knows -- after may move back to Europe (again).
And this, my dears, is how I pass my days at work, trying to keep my brain alive.
