LATE WINTER(S)
My dreams have finally been answered: we had a snowstorm yesterday. Not just any snow--large, fluffy, downy white flakes that drifted lazily downwards until caught by gusts of strong winds, forcing people to hold on tightly to their umbrellas. Yes, the British use umbrellas in the snow--I love their naivete. (See some photos here and here.)
My Canadian boss and I remarked on how much we enjoy snow, how it feels like winter now--much to the chagrin of our warm-blooded co-workers.
I took pictures of cyclades covered in snow in the flowerboxes at the end of my street. And this morning, the slush had frozen to ice so I was slipping on the pavement (sidewalk) all the way to the station.
It was great.
